The Chimango (Milvago chimango) is a kind of prey bird representative of Argentina, Uruguay and also some places in Chile and in the south of Brasil.
In Península Valdés we find it alone, it´s not common to see them in a community, but in other places they usually lives inside colonies.
They have an assorted diet (scavenger, insectivore...) and also they have very good eyesight so they are able to catch tinies rodents.
They´re almost 40 cm, and female is a little bit larger than male.
About their nest, the shelters are built in places protected against sun and rain.
Female, lays between two and five eggs and she incubates them for four weeks. Babies are ready to leave the nest one week later.
Chimango is one of the most efficient assistant that men have to fight illnesses and also plagues.
