Southern Right Whales in Peninsula Valdes National Geographic cover '76 March

In March 1976 National Geographic, spent the first cover of the Southern Right Whale in the waters of Valdes Peninsula.


A monumental natural discovery to a world thirsty for adventure.
The whale watching at that time were made by Mariano Van Gelderen, known as "King of the Whales", a pioneer in this tourist activity that today attracts thousands of visitors in search of this wildlife refuge, unique in the world.
