We were in Punta Ninfas and have seen peering from the cliff the behavior of elephant seals. They are coming, the males come to mark their territory, some fights are generated, at this moment, just for the physical space on the beach.
Females that are coming these days, as shown in photo above, are those that are pregnant as soon as they arrive, give birth to new elephant seal, which is dark in color, thus ensuring the survival of the species. While 73% of births occur at night, it is possible, with patience of a fisherman in these days to observe this event quite tender and poignant.
The ideal place to observe this event of nature, is within the Caleta Valdes and Punta Delgada in Valdes Peninsula.
